$1.50 Thrifty Pillows

This weekend while my son was at his piano lesson I wandered into the Thrift Store down the street and looked around. I picked up a few little odds and ends, how can I resist a 50 cent candle holder? One little thing I got was a large square of brocade fabric found in a pile of table cloths. At $1.50 it was a steal and I was sure I could do something with it.

I have 2 throw pillows that have been taking up space. They had come with a bedding set I no longer owned and I wanted to cover them and place them in the living room.  This seemed like the perfect project for my $1.50 piece of brocade.

had just enough fabric to cover both pillows.

If you are a thrift shopper, keep your eyes open to the possibilities of fabric use. Curtains, tablecloths, etc.. can be turned into something new and great.

Happy 2015!

Hello Everyone! Happy 2015!
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season. I had a very fulfilling holiday season. We had great family Christmases with my family and JD's family. We had a great visit with our friends for New Years and we had some much needed family time. With JD being a shift worker and the kid in school we are finding our free time doesn't always line up. We had 7 days of the 4 us spending all our time together. It was AMAZING!

Of course after all that family time we have now retired to our separate corners and are now back to a schedule. Being the New Year, YAY 2015, I have altered the schedule to better suit new plans! What new plans you ask? We are Opening, filling and maintaining a new Etsy shop filled with embroidered goods, I am wanting to do more video updates and maybe a few tutorials and tips will be in there, I have a scrap bin that is overflowing and in need of projects being made, I want to do more fashion sketching as I am in need of some serious practice because I (for lack of a better word) suck, I want to take some online courses..... I'm sure there is more but that is a start......and feels like a lot.

Before all of that starts my shop needs some organizing. The shop is always a catch all for the "Christmas Chaos", so when its all over I am left with a huge mess to clean up. It has taken me a few days to weed through the mess but it is finally feeling like a working space again. Whew!

So, Happy January! I would love to hear about your plans for this coming year so please leave a comment.

Happy Sewing
